Today I speak about PragerU’s video ‘Why Are Utilities So Expensive’ which attempts to analyze the ‘true cost’ of renewable energy. This video is presented by Charles McConnell, former Assistant Secretary of Energy in the Obama Administration, and it contains a lot of misleading claims, not unusual for a PragerU video, and as I’m passionate about renewable energy and reasonably well read on the topic, I figured I could offer a decent response.

9:06 is incorrect, a flat tax inherently takes the same porportion of income from a low-income family than a high-income familly. PragerU has never advocated for a head tax, which would take a higher porportion of income from a low-income family.

Good video as usual bro. And yeah that "bIg nUmBeR hOw wIlL wE pAy fOr iT" argument is tiresome. Yeah the upfront costs of radically transforming America's power grid and infrastructure are high, however this ignores the context of what America gets from this. This will put America at the forefront of the industry of the future, creating millions of jobs and bringing trillions of dollars into the American economy. It'll also as you said save the U.S the trillions it will lose if it does nothing to stop climate change. I thought these fuckers were supposed to big on "fiscal responsibility"? What's more fiscally irresponsible than wasting trillions keeping a dying industry afloat? Though that assumes prageru have any ideological integrity bar protecting the interests of the fossil fuel companies that fund them.

Also good production choice saying this guy's title every time you said his name. It reminds us that this guy knows damn well that what he's saying is a best a misrepresentation of facts and at worse complete horseshit, he just wants to get paid. Funny how this grifter didn't also mention the tens of billions in subsidies the U.S government gives to fossil fuel companies. I wonder why?
