Even after being unveiled, there has been plenty of confusion surrounding the Kawasaki Ridge. What exactly is it? What should we compare it to? How good is it? We’re at the Hatfield McCoy trails in West Virginia to find out.

I love that you talk about sound. Rare if ever do any reviews mention sound. As a avid hunter noise is huge when out and about. Excellent review. You have a new follower!

they’ll sell a bunch of the models with full HVAC in the Midwest.

Fyi you keep saying the Polaris and Can Am both have parallel twins, thats not true Can Am runs V twin in the Defender. One of the main reasons I purchased the Defender over the Ranger. The V-twin sounds so much better! Thanks for the review.

Best review I've seen on the Ridge. Great machine for the farmer or rancher that also likes to go trail riding.

I really wish they would of put a factory stereo in it like the expedition, but I like it

Great review! I love the new Ridge and I ordered mine new Limited and I can't wait to ride the Hatfield McCoy trails later this summer. I will keep my Mule FXT because I can haul 6 people or just my grandkids in it. I bought it new in 2016 and never have had a problem with it and I am sure the Ridge Limited will be just as great!

This is a Utility UTV, just like my Ranger Northstar XP 1000, god they even look very similar. So Far I like it, I'll give it a year to see how the reliability is and then maybe buy one. I hope Honda builds an enclosed cab unit now with AC and all the goodies, I use mine for work, so I want the Honda reliability. I've got 11, 000 km on my 2019 Ranger, I run tracks all winter up north for work. I have had some small issues like bushings wearing out, only major problems so for have been a rear axle, 02 sensor, Clutch parts wore out & 2 wheel bearings. Tracks are hard on clutches, but I baby the machine and am the only driver of it. Overall I love the machine but not Polaris reliability.

I'm surprised Kawi is positioning the Ridge that way. It's almost identical in size to a Defender and cost is almost the same. I like the 4 cylinder engine and the interior. Can Am and Polaris will have to upgrade the interiors of their machines and hopefully offer a 3 year warranty like Kawi does.

Shit is getting absolutely crazy with these machines lol. Cameras, gps hearing and cooling lol. My buddies all give me shit for my Honda pioneer 1000 but guess who makes it back trip after trip without something broke or a gadget that has went out?😂😂😂

How about the rattles and squeaks? Does Kawasaki do a good job on keeping them out of their cab system.

I like the Limited! Is there more leg room in the Ridge over the defender and the Ranger?

Recently, I was able to take a new Ridge XR out for a long drive on the trails. I really like the buggy and would have bought it, however, the high revving (humming noise in the cab) of the engine at 45km/h (27mph) for extended periods of travel at those speeds was really a turn-off for me. It's a great buggy, not the buggy for my style of riding. It was a disappointment.

I went to get one today was so excited to get and when I test drove it I couldn’t have been more disappointed it rides like a tractor sluggishly and just not what I expected I drive the can am HVAC loaded H 10 I think it was so much better the clutch was way smoother and responsive I almost bought but back out last moment decided to keep my krx and just put a cab enclosure on it I want have cold air but will still have a fun machine can’t so enough how disappointed I was in the ridge for a 33k machine with a 116hp it felt like a tractor stayed up all night dreaming bout taking corn to the deer feeder and still being able to ride casual easy graded trails and this machine can do it but if you wanna have fun in a field with machine or wet road this machine sucks it’s a tractor is what it feels like

I really need to drive one, all that RPM would drive me nuts and it says the clutch is fully shifted out at a low speed making the CVT have a short lifespan like the KRX. I think it should be competing with Ranger and Defender and both of them run roughly 2000 rpm slower. So since you like the sound of the engine, I would say I hope so as that is all I can hear on the video. Otherwise I honestly like it but only as an addition at my farm for a HVAC model

I don't generally think (or care) about horsepower when looking at these types of side by sides. However, you got be looking at it on the Kawasaki website and came across this statement regarding how Kawasaki "rates" the fresh hell marketing is this? How does it really compare to the other cars on the market??
Statement from Kawi's website:
"¹This vehicle's HP was measured according to ISO standard 4106. This ISO standard measures HP differently than the SAE standards by which the horsepower of many cars is measured, and as a result the referenced HP measurement may be higher than if it were measured by an SAE standard."

These are very smooth units, would absolutely buy this over a polaris product, worked at a polaris dealer for 5 years and i cant begin to count the engine jobs ive done on Razors and Rangers, they eat axles, bearings, pivot bushings at every corner, clutches every 1500 miles, and completely zero serviceability. I absolutely hate polaris i will never buy one of their products

This looks like a nice platform. The suspension can be changed. That would take care of the handling. I have the hd10 limited and upgraded rhe suspension. It really dose help with the over all ride. Do they offer a 4 door?

How does the suspension and ride on trails compare to the defender limited?
