I love how she says "theres a lot of people here" meaning the cast amd crew and not the customers in the store like i always assumed before i knew it was Scorsese's mother just reacting naturally lol

The scene is so true. The one person all Italian mobsters and non mobster men fear the most is their own mother! They can deal with killers and law enforcement but their mothers are the authorities.

That "mushrooms 88 cents" sign wasn't supposed to be in this movie, but it just walked on the set and Scorsese felt it was natural, so he kept it in there..

In real life, the person who wrote all this stuff down was named Tuffy DeLuna. When the FBI raided his home they found the all they needed in all those records that was able years later to put the Outfit Bosses away for years.
