Very interested in the cart and stabiliser test! Reminds me of this amazing long tracking shot on Mindhunter S2 which was done with a dolly and a remote stabilised head.

and it's true..as a Director i i always prefer Dolly over Gimbal or steadycam..but for limit time the gimbal is second choice.

Did you ever test that? You can put the gimbal on lock mode also.

Very interesting. I kinda feel that the dolly gives a more impersonal observer look - the David Fincher impartially where you have no control of the upcoming event, where the gimbal is more a POV creep up.

Great comparison! I'd love to see a third comparison with an ARRI Trinity type setup. On the low budget end this could be accomplished with a DigitalFoto Thanos Pro II or Tilta Float in addition to the gimbal.

I don't think the y axis is not fully calibrated on the stabilizer, it shouldn't bounce when he walks properly

As far as taking the bump out, you could always use a, uh, Steadicam...

I just have one thought about the gimbal shot: it's not realistic to have the operator try to shoot the scene while navigating his footsteps in the middle of the dolly track, no?
