it helps to slow down well below 100 kts to have more time to setup and for gentle descent within 5 miles of the VOR.

This is a topic of special interest to me. Executing a cirlce-to-land procedure's missed approach procedure after passing the missed approach point, I believe, requires flying generally over the runway until the VOR or localizer needle begins to center, then turning to the same direction of the final approach course to keep the needle centered, all while climbing, then executing the next instruction of the missed approach procedure (flying toward a holding fix).

I have found this is not possible to practice because it requires a non-towered airport on a nice day, which draws a large crowd in the pattern. The towered airports where I practice my approaches would never allow such a maneuver. So I practice in the simulator at my flight school, a RedBird with the motion component switched off.

The procedure is wonderful to do in the simulator because nobody else is in the pattern, there are no announcements to make on a radio, and the instructor can vary the winds, ceiling, and visibility at will.

The Designated Pilot Examiner that will soon evaluate me advised me that this procedure will be tested at a non-towered airport 41 NM away. Maybe he can wave a magic wand and all the planes in the pattern will depart. Frankly I'm anxious regarding the risk and not sure what to do.

I flew this approach and I always ended perpendicular to runway and I thought I was doing something wrong. What is the purpose of this approach if it doesnot lien you up with runway and how would you land on the runway after this approach ?
