Big and Rugged Quilted Canvas Tote Bag with Pockets.

Quilting makes for a rugged strong bag. The multiple layers and thread reinforcement make for a seriously tough item that can easily carry over 100 pounds if you are up for the task. There are four outside pockets and an inside pocket that is really mesh and could be used to dry a wet item and keep it up off the rest of the contents of the bag. The curtain material is quilted to 15 oz. Duck Canvas. The quilting and construction thread is Tex 138 Bonded Polyester which is sun / UV resistant.

This bag is rather large and measures up at 17" tall X 14" X 9" and handles long enough to put over your shoulder.

Hey Mr Dyer .. that was a blast. Loved the seams hidden under the straps. Double outside pocket was fresh to me (oof!). I am moving away from flat felled seams on the sides since they are so bulky and started using binding .. my 78-1 is a nice binder driver (flat bed ). I tend toward the ll bean style boat n tote side construction, seams simpler to me (I put the triangle flap and seam on the inside .. often cutting it off ... sometimes not. Nice handle build detail on yours. I have started using binding on the edge top opening recently.

Thanks for the tip about starting the first quilt line .. i may lay out with masking tape since i am space limited.
