I learned a LOT from this video, Sandy.  I must be the only one on the planet using a needle to fill my Copics .. never again!!  thanks for sharing !!

Great video! I have always wanted to see a nib being changed out. Thank you for doing that.

Yes I once had a brush tip that had "gummy" ink. I pulled the end off, dropped it into some 99% isopropyl alcohol and it started working just fine! The ink was a C5 cool grey but was more of a C7 or C8. After cleaning it, it was smooth and perfect. It was weird though, because it pushed the ink around too and didn't absorb well.

So glad to find this! My new copic had a very sticky brush nib but I managed to change it; hoping it works ok now

Great tutorial.  I haven't had my Copics for that long but I have learned how to refill them from your wonderful Online class Copic Coloring for card makers.  Now I realize I need to replace a couple of nibs.  I tried the booster needle once and it has moved to the very back of my junk drawer.

Thanks for the copic care reminders. I recently spent 8 hours on the weekend cleaning all of mine and refilling the dry ones. I did about 5 at a time, soaking the caps in alcohol then using a Q-tip to clean the very end of the cap inside. It was quite a task for sure, but worth the effort.

I just happened to learn that there was ink available for refill so I just ordered some. I knew I would find a video that would show me how to refill so when I saw that you had one I knew I could rely on you to have a good video. Thanks for the extra tips. Even though there is that line that indicates that it is the brush end, I put my washi tape down at that end just to make it easier when I have a handful of markers when I'm coloring to know which end is the brush quickly. Why not, I'm marking them anyway. I just love copics. Thanks again for the tutorial.

Yah know, I wish I had pulled this video up before I started the refilling process on my R27. Did I make on heck of a mess? You bet I did; on my hands and on the marker itself. However I managed to weather the storm in my kitchen - ended up changing the nib with the tweezers. Not only that, I tried using the needles. It's easier to remove the nibs and just refill the marker the way you did it in the video.

Rubbing alcohol came in handy as did bleach for my hands. I had no choice on that note. If one didn't know any better, they would have thought "omg who got their finger chopped of?" LOL! The R27 is a very serious deep red.

This video is exactly what I needed, especially since I have a nib that shouldn’t need replacing yet but seems to be clogged because ink won’t flow even after refilling. I need to get colorless blender solution, then I will try your suggestion before replacing the nib.

Thanks for the video, Sandy.  I have a couple of markers that I am going to try the plastic bag trick with because they seem clogged.  Loved this idea before replacing the nibs.  My collection of refill inks is growing - five years out from my first Copic purchase!!

Thanks Sandy! I've had a pretty good idea about refilling, but have some markers that don't color just right, I refilled them and still haven't felt right, so now off to buy some new nibs! Your video was very much helpful, thank you again!

I have always used the counting drops method for refilling but never really knew how many drops! Weighing would be way too much trouble. Thanks for all the tips.

You just may have answered a problem I have. A nib was basically dry and crusty, Probably didn't get the cap on tight. I find when there's a lot of ink inside the cap, and the cap is hard to get back on, I'm trying to NOT BE LAZY and clean it right then!!! Thanks so much for your takent!! I'm going to try your hack!
