Build Series |Eps. 4| Selling Off Aquarium Livestock

After having broke down my 75 gallon saltwater fish tank, the aquarium fish and aquarium coral were housed in a makeshift fish tank consisting of two plastic bins, heaters and circulation pumps. The new build process was delayed by weeks. Concerned for the health of my animals, I approached The Ultimate Aquarium (LFS) in San Mateo California. After explaining my situation, they agreed to take my entire livestock and sell it on consignment. Everything found a more suitable temporary home and lifted a ton of pressure off my shoulders.

My LFS and owner saved me also when a tank cracked for no reason spontaneously. Only 16-18 months old. Thanks - Randy, Life Aquatic in New Canaan, CT. A key reason to establish and maintain a relationship and help them stay open in the day and age of on-line everything.

I enjoyed this video a lot. That was a beautiful store, and it’s so great to see someone so passionate about what they are doing. You could tell he was really into it. I hear you on taking your time. I was given my RSR XL 425 for my birthday last February, and it took until the end of May to get water in it, there was so much planning to do and infrastructure to build. And it took me 4 months after the tank finished cycling to move all the livestock from my 2 nano tanks into it - just moved the last fish yesterday in fact. But I wouldn’t have done it any other way - I know it’s done right and it’s been well worth the effort.
I’m really looking forward to following your new build! 👍🏻👍🏻

Very cool store. It had to be so hard to sell everything off.

Yes I know there's that San Mateo bridge. Very interesting if you could of should of would of...6:40 .. the store guys so funny to place and didn't know you had fish stock . I just watched one or two videos since so many fish videos. The deal seemed reasonable for an agreement . Eventually it's just a hobby to stores that have to deal with operating costs.

Your so lucky you get a nice store like that. Here in Vermont there is nothing! I actually work at an aquarium store but it's only freshwater. I can't seem to convince my boss to sell saltwater lol. I have to drive at least an hour and a half to get a saltwater fish or coral. It's no fun

That's an awesome thing your lfs did for you. And it looks like a damn nice store. My 2 lfs aren't anywhere near that caliber. One refuses to do saltwater, and the other does saltwater, but their tanks look horrendous. Good luck on the new build. I'll be following.

Sorry you had to drop most of your pals Gil... I'm guessing there is always something refreshing about starting fresh though. On a side note that LFS is NICE!
