My riding style consists of woods and mountain trails. I had my 500 EXC-F lowered. Probably a little too much in my opinion, but as it is I have zero problems with getting where I need to go.

I lowered my 2017 Husqvarna 701 to around 35 inches. No complaints.

Thanks for the video! Average height people have no idea what the vertically-challenged face on a daily basis. In the past, I’ve only used lowering links and lowered seats to get the overall height of my bikes down. This video and a couple of others now have me leaning towards getting my suspension done. Thanks again!

Great video you two. Contemplating the cost of lowering vs the benefit often discourages making that choice. A few factors to consider is the damage done from continually dropping the bike, the effort to pick it up again and your health a safety. To me, a small price to pay for a better riding experience.

Am impressed that you endured 2 years of an uncomfortably high seat while riding challenging tracks. You'll appreciate the lower seat for many miles ahead. I used a Kubo lowering link on my 640 Adventure as a frugal man's approach, which has worked well.

I bought a Triumph Bobber no more teetering at red lights. No more pains in everywhere from riding my taller previous bikes. Now I can ride 500 miles and not feel like my body has declared war on me for 2 days.

Great video.
Nothing quite like getting your bike “dialed in” for you!

Awesome vid! Once I add a 690/701 to my tool kit I will be doing much the same. Thanks for the great info. BTW “the laugh” at 8:16 is priceless 😀😂.

Glad to hear it's more comfortable at the new height.

Great video! Win for short riders! Way safer and better than just a lowering link and sliding the forks up.

Many say "Seat height is not a problem, you need to learn to ride!" That can only come from someone who has so long legs that he/she can easily put a foot down at every stop. Once you need to start planning for your stops is is time to think about lowering your bike. The 690 Enduro I had a few years ago also needed to be lowered to be used as an adventure bike with luggage. Now I am on a Norden 901 that works nicely. Maybe I'll go for a 690 after that again, but sadly insurance rates are quite expensive for those here. I would for sure get it lowered, maybe using the factory operable 4cm lowering kit. I am 1.71m by the way and buying jeans with 30 or maximum 32" inseam.

Nice vid, thanks for doing this. Interestingly, the 690 after lowering still looks like it has the clearance to go just about anywhere you could remotely call a road.

Hell, I have a 32in inseam and weigh in at 240lbs. The bike can be a pita for me in the woods if I have to stop on the trail. On pavement, no problem, but on uneven terrain in the woods it can be tricky.

Great video, thanks for sharing, I was looking for a trail bike with road capability, I'm 5'7" and was thinking of the CRF300L but really wanted a larger fuel tank and more road performance but thought the 690 would be too high. 😀

Excellent! I wish I was nearer to the shop. I could use this service.

Thanks for your vid. I've a 701 and I'm 5ft9" and I did experience what you said on stopping or riding slow on gnarly terrain. Dropped my bike only 3 times over 7000km but got injured on my right feet. So am I the process of lowering by 40mm my 701 with the WP kit.

Thanks for this. Did you lower your excf too? On paper it’s 2in taller than the 690…

I love this! I’m a little bit taller, but am so intimidated by the adventure bikes because of the height. Do you think certain brands are more short-inseam friendly when it comes to the cost and ease of lowering? It seams like companies that want to attract women riders would offer a lowered package as part of “stock” in their new and certified-used bikes… or maybe that is just on my wishlist after decades of seeing higher prices on women’s products.

How much exactly was the bike lowered? Not just the seat height change but what mm did EVO lower the components? Thanks
