How to Lower A Husqvarna Or KTM

In the video I show how to Lower a Husqvarna or KTM that has the linkage rear suspension system. When I bought my Husqvarna FE350 I specifically chose that bike and not the identical KTM EXC 350F because of the Link suspension that can be easily modified and lowered with a simple link change. Being 5" 10 in height I thought it would be a better choice to buy. John and I swapped the link and dropped the bike by 2.5 inch aprox..

Very easy install and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Here re some of the things I used in this video:

Thank you for posting this, it made the decision to buy the Husky FE 350 much easier. Even before installing this lowering link, my husband said this was simply the best dirt bike he's ever owned, and he's been riding in the dirt over 50 years. His first Husky was in 1970.
He's 5'8" and of course wanted to touch the ground; your video has also made installation much easier (no instructions came with the part).

You guys are hilarious working together! I especially liked the "push it in like a Man" comment; the irony was of course, the guy who said it had a towel down as to not hurt his manly knees. I enjoyed the video guys and learned from it. Thank you.

Hey hey crazy dudes. Thanks for this video. I need to lower my KTM 640 dule sport. Not to be flat footed but to get my but in the seat. My age 56, I'm 6 ft 6, cant do the lift the leg high enough thing anymore.
I will definitely remember the 85nM torque on the bolts and nuts :)

I went back to the stock pull arm link of my YZ250, and did what I needed to do with the shock and fork, (about .75" less travel). I found that with the longer links, it does not shorten the wheel travel, but just shifts it, ----into your fender. So it would be like hitting the brake if you bottom it out on the fender, (which is probably a real bad time to hit the rear brake), while beating on the fender and sub frame. My almost expert opinion, (if you want the most functional bike possible), I think it is better to stick with the stock link and lower the bike elsewhere. Me and that bike are going to get along real well this summer. :)

Good job guys. It takes a lot of patience for old pals ( I’m over 50) to work as a team sometimes. Actually, you could perfectly flat foot that bike without lowering it. But it will cost you 2 big balls and gain high pitch voice. Just kiddin’ 😉

You should have greased the pivot joint, you need new helper.

These guys were so excited about inserting the shaft they forgot the ad Grease:-) I was thinking well are these without lubrication now?

You're done.... now take it out again and reassemble but this time with grease, quite a lot in fact, waterproof grease preferably!
Any linkage must be properly lubricated, and your vid skips this completely: fooi man!
Then, when you've done that, you'll next raise the stanchions an inch through the triples surely, to obtain the proper steering settings again?
You need to do that, one cannot lower a bike only front or rear as this affects the steering geometry negatively.
Oh, setting the various sags at the rear is also a must, so do that when the front is lowered too.... and only when all that is done measure the seatheight.

Good job pal. I just purchased a pro circuit lowering link and I can’t wait to get it on.

This was just as funny as it was educational, lol. Can't believe I paid a mechanic like $300 for two bolts and it barely lowered my KTM 125 SX. Good video though, you guys are hilarious.

After several years, would you say that this was a good product? Is it high-quality great video by the way?

I had so much fun watching this video. You guys are hilarious 😂 but most of all got’er done 🤙🏽 I’m about to do this to my KTM 350 and I’m “almost” 5’11” 😬

One hammer stroke = 55 newton meters . Hilarious. I enjoyed this.

Nice.... but you suppose to lower the fork to... for better geometry... from the triple clamp 25mm + -

hahahah this reminded me and my bff working on cars when we were younger. I'm getting my excf 350 lower as well, and I'm a lot shorter than you. I can't wait.
