I should mention that for the people who don't know. When you delete the cache files and open the battlenet. You will see install instead of play. That not means that your game is uninstalled. You just have to click locate the game next to install and then locate the game folder.

Worked for todays patch. If you get an error when deleting one of the folders in the C: drive step, go into task manager and stop the Blizzard agent app.

my game was still stuck on "initializing" after doing this. to fix this i went to the settings located next to "Play/Update" and clicked modify game, added a random language. for some reason this made it continue to download!

This did nothing. It just made battlenet forget it had installed overwatch and I needed to point back to the folder where it was again. After that it had the same issues on updating...

A small tip that worked for me - even though I live in Asia, changing the region to Europe or America fixed it.
