Traveling mailbox: yes. very helpful to.keep a US address. And international mail takes literally months. Better to have stuff sent to a US address and fedexed to philippines. Costs like $50 but if something is important, its worth it. Like when my credit card expired I had new one sent to my us address, then fedexed to philippines. Took about a week instead of 3 months.

I kept my American phone with an American phone number, and also got a Filipino phone with a Filipino phone number. Many us organizations require a us phone number. Like on their website when it asks for a phone number, there's just no way to enter a country code and you must give exactly 10digits. I got a cheap US plan, like $20 / month. My filipino phone I use prepaid load, maybe $5 / month. Most of my calls on either are WiFi calls so basically free. Only catch I've had is sometimes when I call US, apparently there are a limited number of lines, so I have to use Filipino phone and pay international rates. But its rare enough that its no big deal.

Great video: my advice to anyone moving here definitely do 1 of these 3 things…

1) save a lot of money

Or

2) have some sort of passive income already (rentals, dividends etc)

Or

3) work online and make sure you’re allowed to travel with that job.

I have been to several areas in and around Luzon. Mainly the Subic area. It's nice but very hot and humid most of the time.
