I believe that the reason Dutch makes that area a hideout is because their is only one path in or out, and the mountain range will make it impossible to be attacked from behind. So until he has more people in his gang its a good spot

Found the spot coming in from the opposite direction but was getting attacked by wolves while hunting a 3* Fox or maybe Badger so may have missed the Blip. The reason Dutch likely chose it was it was very defendable. Had the Gatling gun mounted high pointing at the entrance, despite RDR1 it would have been nearly impossible for John and the Army to storm.

I think dutch went crazy by the end of epilogue 2. In chapter 6 he hit his head in the train. Ans he didnt get it treated so he went a bit crazy. All he ever cared about was money. U could tell at the end of ch 6 dutch was sort of pretending to love his gang members and all he really cared about was the money

Slightly longer answer is no you can't find him, and the newspaper clipping that refers to Dutch being in Tall Trees is a reference to the end of Red Dead 1, as that is where you track him down.
