Dutch became a fucking badass, have you ever soon anyone else shoot a dude that's high on a mountain and his binoculars using a pistol? But he's a absolute menace in rdr1 but I still like his character because it really works and even more so after playing rdr2.

I miss the old camp memories man. The only thing that sucks about rdr2 is I know how it ends cuz I’ve already completed it but its like when I play it, it feels i don’t know what going to happen but like right now I’m back in Saint Denis from being in Guarma and it just makes me sad how the camp broke up later and the fact that Pearson looks at the pic later in the credits is so sad because imagine just picturing your memories with the big group of outlaws man… SO FREAKING SAD

It’s terrifying how far down Dutch went, John was raised and taught by Dutch, and they had a strong connection for 20 years, and after all that, Dutch was *ready* to kill John without hesitation, if he didn’t hit the binoculars, John would have been dead right there, from such a strong friendship to just killing without any thought, that’s how far he fell when he snapped, it’s terrifying.

I played rdr2 and saw Dutch as a caring leader who has gone insane from trauma caused by a bunch of things. Now I have started playing rdr1, and I am at the part where I've seen Dutch a couple of times. It's just so sad how he went from having everything to nothing. Even the way he dresses drastically worsened, he doesn't even wear a coat when it's cold. He is a truly lost man.

Dutch was a “good” person at first, but started to slip away from being what he was and closer to who he was in RDR once the rat got to his head and when he hit his head (the head part is just a theory)

After Dutch lost the original gang (especially Arthur and Hosea) to a rat that he helped he basically lost his soul. He went right on to make another gang except this time he went full blown O'Driscoll and didn't care about a single one of gang members instead of having one big family. My poor man Dutch fr started out as an idealistic Robinhood kind of guy and then life just hit him like a freight train, bruising his ego and soul to the point that he couldn't lie to himself about how far down he tumbled. He used to try to justify who he killed and rob but then later on just wanted the sport. He also literally hit his head during the trolly mission and mental health wasn't even a field of medicine people cared to look into until WW1. Dutch is a much better villain than m*cah because while m*cah is just comically evil for the sake of having an evil character I never thought of Dutch as a completely unsympathetic villain.
