Vivo X90 Pro Plus Camera Test in Tokyo

The highly anticipated Vivo X90 Pro Plus is here. The phone is only sold in China for now but I was able to source one from Trinity Electronics in Hong Kong.

The X90 Pro Plus features a main camera that uses Sony's IMX989 1-inch sensor. But that's not all -- the Periscope zoom lens got an upgrade to a 64MP lens, and the 2x telephoto lens has a much faster f/1.6 aperture. The phone is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with Vivo's V2 imaging chip handling image processing.

Vivo's computational photography is one of the best, if not the best for camera phones. Adding the V2 ISP and a 1" inch sensor is insane.

Man if you don't pay really close attention to the zooms you don't even notice the change between lenses. Just brightness and color reproduction but it's so subtle that casual viewers that are not looking for it are not going to notice. Vivo did an excellent job.

The portrait looks amazing. Not aggressive and looks super crisp.
