Kia today presented its all-electric compact SUV, the Kia EV5, at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. The Kia EV5 brings a new era of electric mobility to the compact SUV sector to meet the needs of millennial families.

Embracing the subtle interplay between natural landscapes and contemporary architecture, the Kia EV5 features strong and solid lines. It presents a modern interpretation of the Kia tiger mask with a wide and unique stance, all shaped with passion and precision.

From every angle, the confident and dignified nature of the EV5 is reflected in its powerful fenders and wide shoulder lines, creating a solid and unique quarter silhouette. The pushed-back D-pillars further highlight the EV5’s family-friendly practicality, accentuating the spaciousness of the rear seat and the trunk while providing a wide field of visibility.

Distinctive Kia design elements, such as the wide nose and solid bonnet, combine to form a sleek digital ‘Tiger Face,’ eclipsing the traditional grille to convey a clean and powerful impression. Further enhancing the front exterior design, the EV5 incorporates three-dimensional ‘Signature Star Map Lighting’ formed by daytime running lights (DRL). Inspired by star-studded constellations, it introduces dynamic shapes along the lamp line, further emphasizing the EV5's Tiger Face design.

RELEASE DATE & MARKETS:
Kia will launch the EV5 during the latter half of 2023, initially in China, and will unveil further product details at the Kia EV Day – an event dedicated to the brand’s EV lineup and vision. Scheduled for October, Kia will expand upon its global vision for electrification at the event.

The Leopard 5 SUV from BYD was officially unveiled in China as a 5-meter SUV with 680 hp. the New Leopard 5 stands on the new hybrid architecture called DMO (Dual Mode Off-road). It will hit the market this year.

First, let’s take a quick tour around the Leopard 5. It is a blocky SUV with a 5-meter length and blocky styling. It has a flat windshield, a high bonnet line, brawny plastic wheel arches, and big blocky headlights. Moreover, the front bumper of the all-new Leopard 5 has fog lights. From the side, it has D-shaped taillights and a spare wheel mounted on the rear door. The Fang Cheng Bao Leopard 5 also has BFGoodrich 265/55 R18 AT tyres.

Inside, the Leopard 5's interior has a large floating screen, a sporty D-shaped steering wheel, a retractable gear selector, a pair of cup holders, and two wireless charging pads, Behind the steering, we can also notice an LCD instrument panel. Previously, there was information that the Leopard 5 would also have an additional screen for the front passenger. However, the displayed car doesn’t have a passenger’s screen. On the other hand, it has a Face ID sensor on the A-pillar from the driver’s side, two USB ports, and one Type-C. Here, we should also mention that the Fang Cheng Bao Leopard 5 has only two rows of seats.

Speaking about the specs of the Leopard 5, its dimensions are 4890/1970/1920 mm with a wheelbase of 2800 mm. It also has approach and departure angles of 35 and 32 degrees, respectively. Moreover, according to non-official information, the Leopard 5 will have an offroad version with approach and departure angles of 39 and 35 degrees.
