This was a turning point in the history of the house! The flooding was significant, but now the worst is over. I wish all of you to live in a good and clean home. health and goodness to you all!

Hello Alex, I'm glad the flood is over.
FYI, carpenter bees are a real problem (The bee in the hole in the post). Once they get a good start they will destroy anything made of wood they get into. ( their damage is similar to termites, but bigger tunnels) I had huge problems with the USA version of those bees. For some reason they like pine and cedar. You have to kill the larva hiding in the hole, not just kill the bee.

Seasonal flooding will likely come unless that was a once in a long time heavy snow that caused the river rising and extra melt water. Either way the shelter is forever in danger of flooding once again because of its location within a flood area. I can understand why you are hesitant to abandon it or relocate it. ALOT OF WORK went into building it. Hard to let it go. But black mold will be the next looming threat which can be dangerous to your health. Please be willing to relocate and start over if the flooding happens again next season and or if you notice the mold. Better for us to still have Alex than not to.

Your insect friend is called a carpenter bee where I live. They destroy dead wood from the inside out. Keep an eye out for those perfectly circular holes. You have a beautiful underground home. If the flood doesn’t get it, those pesky carpenter bees surely will if left to their own. Love your channel.
