The Stonehenge DEEP BELOW Lake Michigan's SURFACE

There are many strange anomalies in the world. Unexplainable events that seem to either be a relic of the past of human activity or a piece of nature that we had never considered before. But sometimes, those two events, actually more often than not, will collide. Deep under the waters of Lake Michigan, lies a Stonehenge of sorts. These rocks all stacked up and collected with some being as large as a car, were very clearly placed there. But the question is, how? There carvings on them would seem to suggest is was quite a white ago. Either way, lets discuss that in todays episode!

Thank you for watching Roanoke Tales and I hope you enjoy The Stonehenge DEEP BELOW Lake Michigan's SURFACE

"Land beneath the great lakes is depressed"

We always seem to talk about what the land is doing but never how it is doing.

Floating somewhere in the middle of Lake Michigan is also my favorite hat. It has a rooster on it, if anybody finds it, I'd appreciate a heads up. It's been out there about five years now, so it might just be down to the snap band.

Imagine being the Michigan Dogman just out chilling in the woods and you hear in the distance "Starting with the feet..." followed by the pumping of a shotgun.

The primal human urge to stack rocks.

Really though, I was born and raised in Michigan and i've learned there is plenty of weird and mysterious stuff around - the forests and lakes hide a lot. Always fun to see some love given to us and our stories. I expect you here in 2027! Great vid Roanoke, hope you are well.

Goddamnit. To quote my good friend Roanoke "Do you want an Old God? Cause that's how you get an Old God."

I'm glad he kept their location a secret. Tourism and Vandalism is a serious threat to places like that. Even urban explorers tend to keep the locations they explore secret because people have been known to go there and leave graffiti, smash windows, etc.

I want to say "Thank You." My daughter and I watch your videos together, and today's video led us down a fun little rabbit hole. From here, we went to the GA Guidstones and watched a video by the Why Files. In that video was a graphic for POLYBIUS, so naturally, we fell a little further. We've been binging YT for almost 3 hours. Also, we both want to accompany you in the hunt for the Michigan Dogman, so there's that, too.

So glad you mentioned Gordon Lightfoot’s song “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”. Immediately starting singing it in my head 😂

My favorite weird timing fact is that Abraham Lincoln could have received a fax from a samurai.

Hidden gems of stone circles sounds like an awesome band name

It has been suggested that these kinds of things were lunar calanders, yes, but would also provide information about seasons, when animals migrate, how far off planting seasons for different crops may be, etc. Super useful.

Nerd here:

From what I understand about that area during the lce Age, (geologically referred to as the last glacial maximum), is that the Laurentide ice sheet covered the Great lakes region, extending as far south as the middle of Illinois and Iowa.

Whoever built these had to have done it shortly after the ice sheet receded enough to expose the land, but still was large enough so that the lakes didn't have a lot of water in them yet

There is a guy in West Michigan that built a Stonehenge replica just off the road. My husband and I call it foamhenge. We see it all the time and I love it. It's like a half hour from Lake Michigan in Ottawa county.
Edit: my husband said it is classified as a private park and the county parks website has a spot you can schedule an appointment and take photos. But I'm not sure I haven't found it

Gug: "Hey, we should arrange some giant stones in a circle."
Zug: "Why? That seems impractical."
Gug: "Yeah, but imagine how weird it would look to people 10, 000 years from now. They would go nuts trying to figure it out."
Zug: "Say no more. Lets do it."
