The first Luigi’s mansion is one of my favorite games of all time. I remember sneaking into my big brother’s room to play it on his GameCube when I was little. I still replay the game twice every year. It’s just that good :) I almost always play the game on hidden mansion mode so it’s too bad that the US didn’t get the good version. Oh well

One cool thing the Hidden Mansion on the 3DS remake did was move all of Mario's items into different locations in the Mansion. That really shook it up I feel like.

3DS version for Hidden Mansion also doesn’t have 2x damage on the Poltergust, making it extremely hard since all ghosts have 50% more health. The Mario Items are also swapped around in different places entirely!

I have played the EU version when I was young and I remember my rages against big boo cuz Luigi doesn't control well surfing on the poltergust. Lately I thought the reverse mansion was just part of my crazy memories, nobody talks about this mode in that time

I completely agree that the EU version is the superior version. Would love to try out the Hidden Mansion of that version someday, but I don't use emulators, so that might be difficult 😅 But yeah, those changes make a BIG difference on a 2nd playthrough. I didn't even know there was a difference in the Hidden Mansion when I played it as a kid.

Im European and speedran this game for a while! So i actually know both versions and obviously prefer the us/jp version for speedruns haha

Got this game a month or two ago (Europ one I'm in the UK) and I haven't been able to play that much I only have the first 3 bosses done but I can't wait to get to the harder bits when I finish it
