50 Monsters In The USA 🇺🇸

There are hundreds of unknown and horrifying monsters in the shadows on the USA. From werewolves to dogmen, to little people that want to steal your tools the country is packed full of legends and lore. Some of which may be more than just a legend.

Today I’m making a very unique video from what I usually do. I am simply naming all these incredible bipedal, quadrupedal and aquatic creatures that are legend to hide in our world. I’m doing this so that it may not only as a bit of caution to your travels as you head out on your everyday adventures but hopefully also add some mystery to the world that many claim to have all figured out.

You’ll hear a tiny bit about each of this creatures but I prefer to talk in depth about the cryptic sand legends I read. If there’s anything in this list I did or didn’t mention please let me know! I love folklore, I love history about lost treasure and history in general.

I hope you enjoy todays video on the 50 creatures in the 50 United States. I have more videos that talk in depth about Cherokee folklore, but I am branching out. Feel free to let me know any suggestions with future videos or ideas you’d like to see in the future.

Don’t forget to subscribe and like the video to help the channel grow. I try to upload once a week but until I can start doing this full time I’m just doing as much as I can with the time that I have.

I hope you all enjoyed the video, thank you for watching and I’ll see you next time m Adventure Explore Discover! 🤠

This video was a much bigger project than any I’ve ever done. It actually took me 4 tries and a total of 20 hours to get this done. 😅

Thank you to everyone who’ve been watching and subscribing! This took a lot of time, research and work hours so I hope you all enjoy it! 🤠

No mention of the mythical California creature known as the Affordableliving monster. It's a very rare creature that not many Californians live to see. Only a very few select individuals are lucky enough to come across Affordableliving.. it's said to only appear in run down cities or the outskirts of Sacramento.

Jersey resident here. The Jersey Devil urban legend used to be taught in schools, actually. I was so fascinated by the story that when I got into my 20's, me and a few friends went to the Pine Barrens to camp in the very area where most sightings had occurred. We had planned to be out there for a week. On our third night just before we turned in, we heard sounds like something big climbing trees really close to our campsite. But we never saw anything. That was pretty creepy and even though bears are known to climb trees, these noises came from way above, out of the reach of where any bear would get to. These trees were at least 50 feet high. We decided to pack up and leave the next morning.

As someone from Alabama I’m glad to hear someone talk about Huggin Molly, but we also have several other monsters. The Wolfwomen of Mobile, Bigfoot, the White Thang or Fang (depending on who you ask, and then the Downey Booger. If you’re talking ghosts we have many of those too. May I recommend the Sweetwater Mansion, Sloss Furnace, or the Red Lady of Huntington College?

I had a friend in high school, who said he was a werewolf. He did not describe himself as Lycan, just werewolf. Of course, I didn't believe him, but years later there was a local news paper, which came out for Halloween one year, showing and describing all of the local legends around San Antonio, TX. One of which, was the werewolf of Converse. This just so happens to be the small city I have lived, since high school. I can't say I've heard anything else about it. Just an earlier coincidence? I don't know. Weird, for sure.

Lived in rural Missouri. I heard loud gravelly screams and cracking branches several times in our woods. Not any animal I ever heard made those noises. Locals said it was Mo Mo.

Oklahoman here, I can assure you, the stories from my tribe, Cheyenne, of the Little People are quite different. They're a violent, carnivorous and occasionally cannibalistic war-tribe, who are immortal unless killed in combat. They lure people away to eat them. I've seen the little people myself in BCT or "boot camp" and they were beckoning to me, and they were... Ethereal, almost a translucent white colour, with large black pits for eyes and hairless heads. I told my grandma about it, and she said it was because I'm indian, and I agree. A very surreal experience I never wish to repeat.

Tennessee has another creature known as the Tennessee Wildman. He’s another ape-squatch creature but instead of being another species it’s said that he was an abnormally hairy man that was part of a traveling circus until he escaped one day near east Tennessee and started terrorizing people.

One particularly gruesome account recounts a man and his family being tormented by the unending screams of a creature day in and day out. One night, the husband decides to take things into his own hands and goes out to find the creature but he spends hours following the creature’s screams to no avail. To the man’s shock and horror he discovers toward the end of his trek that the creature had been in fact leading the man in a giant circle around his property. By the time he gets within throwing distance of his house he sees a tall hairy creature resembling a man with glowing red eyes breach his back door and tear through the house exiting out the front door all while screaming. When the man enters his house he discovers the mutilated corpses of his wife and children on the floor and everything in the house destroyed. He’s left with nothing but the unnerving shouts of the creature and an empty home.

Skin walkers would be an interesting one because a lot of people say they can appear as regular humans as well as animals. But I would love it if you could do one on skin walkers.

I'm from New Mexico and I didn't see La Llorona but I heard her cry and saw fog pull up across a ditch bank. Scared the hell out of me... Then again I was also 6 and my parents just told me the La Llorona story. XD

On another note it's now 20 years later and I live in a mountainous area near Colorado, and the other day I heard a weird howl coming from the woods. Now I have heard wolves and coyotes howl, and even herd elk make that weird noise but this howl sounded deeper like it was from a bigger animal or something.

Missouri has a much more terrifying cryptid. The Missouri Mutt, is a dog, or hellhound, that roams the backroads of Missouri. Now to most, they would just assume it’s a coyote, but the Missouri Mutt is larger than any dog booth domesticated and wild, and is said to feast on people who just so happen to unfortunately pull over to help the dog, or have had minor accidents on the road. So if you ever find yourself in the backroads of Missouri, just hope you’re not alone on the road.

I’ve grown up hearing my grandpa tell me about the Rougarou which is the local name for the Louisiana monster you described. I’ve lived right on the border of Louisiana in Texas for most of my life so hearing a story about a werewolf that lurks the Louisiana swamps is just about the most terrifying thing I can think of. Great video btw.

virginia also has larry the hobo. he's a coastal cryptid and shows up before serious storms. rumor has it he was one of the many unmarked graves that was excavated during the making of virginia beach and the surrounding areas. he just wants to protect his neighbors. he's also been reported to interact with and help the homeless people here by leaving them stuff while they sleep or arent looking for long enough. he gets mentioned being spotted up at first landing state park some times.

Love the way you handle the subject matter, you made me want to seek out these beings, but then I remember the claws, fangs and thé glowing eyes staring at me from outside, so yeah I’ll stick to watching your adventures from the comfort of home, but I did subscribe to the channel, cheers!

Why is it that European mythological creatures are like cute faires and gnomes but American mythological creatures are like horrific murder beasts lmao I guess we are just built different.

I’m from Vermont and I’ve never heard of the Pig-man. I thought for sure you were gonna do the Lake Champlain Monster better know as Champ to the locals.

Growing up in Az, we were constantly reminded of la LLORONA, we were told so many stories but that one was the most prevalent. Love to hear about cryptids, folklore amd the like... good job.

Every monster has a plan until a 12 gauge slug rips through its guts.
