Tamagotchi Smart Review

This is my review of the latest Tamagotchi to release, the Tamagotchi Smart!

I just wanted to add more things I've discovered here.

1.) You can't delete items. Period. End of sentence.. 😬

2.) When the storage gets fuller, the transition from screen to screen seems slower..or not as smooth. (Refer to point 1 to see why that's an issue 😅)

3.) Charging outside the recommended methods from Bandai can damage or destroy the device. It is recommended to charge with the wire provided on a computer. Page 4 and page 19 of the English translated instructions (linked above) detail charging and chargers Bandai approved for the Smart as well.

4.) There actually is a way to turn off the device. If you hold down the middle button and reset at the same time, release reset while still holding the middle button, and you'll bring up the version check screen. Just leave it there and allow the screen to turn off, the device will be powered off at this point. To turn it back on, you hold the middle button for 5 seconds. You'll be able to click resume or reset when you start it back up, like any other time you reset.

5.) A new issue has been discovered. The screen has a problem where it can look like the screen is lifting. It almost looks like a screen protector coming off the device.

I personally really enjoy it! It feel like they took the magic of a retro tamagotchi and made it in color. So far I’ve been having no problems and it’s not even scratched yet. I adore the simplicity and I still think it’s very enjoyable and fun. Just gives me that magical feeling of the original tamagotchi

I've been trying to do some research on the Tamagotchi Smart to see if I'd wanted to get one, and for not "being a YouTuber" this was probably one of the most helpful videos!!! I haven't found anybody else that's gone this in depth, especially when it comes to the downfalls of this specific Tamagotchi! So thank you so so much for making this video!

Nice review! I do agree that it is limited in some ways, but I think it’s great for Tama newcomers ☺️ I love the app functions and the 5x mini games! 🤩 I’m enjoying mine heaps

I think I’ll prefer the pix, I can’t imagine ever wearing this as a watch it seems so fragile and the fact that even touching it to fabric can stain it makes it impossible to keep in nice condition… The characters ARE super cute though lol

Great video! I wonder if the internal battery can be replaced. At some point it’s going to die and won’t be able to take a charge. Have you heard how many charging cycles the battery will last? I still have my first Tamagotchi from 24 years ago. I doubt the smartwatch will be able to function in 24 years. I preordered the Niziu but now I’m having second thoughts.

Thanks very much for your video, it's very detailed and you talked about something that people didn't mention in other reviews.

I also have Pix and in love with pix a lot, so the comparison of Pix and Smart actually dismissed my thought of getting one, tho the Smart and some smartcard are in my shopping cart for couple of days lol. After all features in concerned I guess I will just get another On or Meet instead of Smart, it looks like Smart are more casual (they are already casual game tho lolol just more 💦) since they delete some locations and basic game stuff and that will reduce a lot of gaming time, which is not very ideal, and without the career and 🧬 features, for myself I think I will lose motivation of just taking care of one generation to the next.

Smart is still a nice new product especially for someone that not playing tamagotchi for a while and returned to tamagotchi's world, especially if they have busy life and just want to play with them a little bit. I feel it's a combination of the original tamagotchi with the colored version.

Hi, thanks for the detailed review! Which tamagotchi would you recommend a newcomer? I like the idea of the different places and genes in ON but I won't be buying a second one just to unlock things so just one that can be a good entertaining companion is ideal.
