One of the best coming-of-age films ever. So honest and unapologetic. There's really a shortage of frank, female-centred teenage films, exploring female sexuality in an open and non-judgemental way, especially from the US, making The Diary of a Teenage Girl truly quite a revelation.

I think that depends enormously on the lighting and overall cinematography
Cause the costumes are more or less the same, it's just that you can shoot it as though it was a contemporary, realistic film, or as a sort of homage to that era
