Hello! Music producer and musician here! (also go CAO! Woot woot! Was LYO before). Please avoid the egg cartons!!! It looks bad. if some egg bacteria is left on it, it can grow certain bacteria that's hazardous AND it's a fire hazard!!!

Get some simple acoustic foams and or check on making some homemade bass traps! :)

You could probably make the panels yourself! One easy way i've seen is making a wood frame and packing cardboard pieces in it, and then covering it with fabric. Yiu could use old boxes and it could be a cheaper alternative

Hello Noah, I would suggest buying acoustic panel instead, for the installation what's challenging I guess is adding the air gap between the wall and the panel itself, in my opinion a wood batten is enough to carry the load of acoustic board and are easier enough to install, another material that you can use for the finish would be acoustic felt problem here is the acoustic pelt (similar to carpet) is more on the DIY vs the acoustic panel, taking into consideration concave convex shapes etc. For the roofing a suspended material that will allow noise to travel between the ceiling and the suspended material would do it but it is costly,

Try egg cartons. You can get a ton of used ones from a local restaurant. Corrigated foam also works. You can get panels from Amazon.

My favorite thing is to put blankets in the corners and pin them loosly over the angle, gives a nice vibe to the rooms shape and dampens noise.

I've done some recordings on a cheap rented studio before. They've used Carton Egg trays bought from a nearby Big Wet Market (palengke) to cover the Ceiling and Walls and painted it black. Not solid on sound proofing and there's still a little room reverb. But still, workable for a cheap alternative.
