#narcissist #narcissisticabuse Is there any hope for a narcissist? Can a narcissist become a healthy partner or learn empathy? Is there any way for a narcissist to change? In this video, I explain why change is so unlikely for pathologically narcissistic people, especially when it comes to their relationships.

I'm narcissistic. MDMA is the only thing I've found that actually enables me to empathize. There are a few of us trying to actually be better people. Don't write us all off.

I have narcissist aspects in me. I DO care about other people, like my family. Not really for my self-image, but I recognize that I do it just because I 'feel' it is the *right* thing to do. I also do not feel envy or need for vengeance.

I do, however, lack empaty and I am afraid of intimacy, and also have the impulse of defending myself with all strenght at the slightest criticism. These 3 things alone are enough to destroy any relationship. Like it happened to me.

Now I am looking at ways to "cure" ir or control it, and I am on therapy. Can it be possible to destroy your personality? If it is, I would even try that.

You can never take a vacation and really enjoy each other s company or the vacatiin sites and experiences. It sucks so much! Your heart breaks thinking this person is not here and it really appears he will end up in hell. The non natc is not allowed basically to be joyfilled and openly themselves. It just hurts.

while a narc can't change their personality, they can learn to control how they treat people even though they won't ever have the emotional maturity to act decently naturally

This whole thing with a narcissist, the way they process information, the way they react to literally everything, and probably most of all, the way they can treat people with such distain and hatred, and can't understand why these overwhelmingly negative actions, could never have any type of positive results, that's a hard thing to wrap your mind around. In trying to, as a wise woman once put it, trying to make sense out of nonsense, I wondered something. Let me explain. So somehow, I have no idea how, but I managed to go my entire life and not even realizing these people existed. Once I did, I couldn't believe how accurately these psychologist would describe her, it was unreal. It was almost as if they were talking about HER specifically, I mean it was THAT spot on. So much so that, it made me question the concept of "free will." What I mean is, bad things can happen to me or, I can mess something up, either directly or indirectly but due to my actions. Now, there's a world of possibilities for the way I can react to this. Try to learn from it, of course, but more than that. I can get upset with myself, I may get sad about it, I may try to fix it if I can but I take full responsibility for my actions. They are mine and, good or bad, I'm only human. Now, on the flip side of this, we have a person who will take a different approach but this person's approach is so predictable that, a complete stranger, who never met this person before, can look at a situation and, not only predict with 100% accuracy, not only how they will react, but even say, word for word exactly what she would say, literally every single time. So I wonder, if these people are so predictable that a complete stranger will predict everything they will say or do in almost ANY given situation, do they honestly have "free will" or is that just an illusion they have and actually slaves to their disorder? I hope I explained that right, I'm on a job right now and did this in multiple tries but do you see my point? And if they don't have free will, do any of us?

Why do you care if there is any hope for someone who hated you took you for granted deceived you and tried to destroy you. If you want hope for this kind of evil you need just as much help as they do. The truth is self respect should have kicked in along time ago. This narcissistic character should face fraud charges in my opinion

Thank you....ive been away from my cluster b relationship for years yet I'm still coming back to trying to make sense of it. I haven't seen anything of urs except this video (and plan on watching more) but I appreciate what u are doing. This is a process of figuring out where u went wrong and where u should expect more of then figure out where u are still making acoomodations for someone who is no longer in control of ur life. It's tough. I can't tell u how important creators like u are to people trying to just figure it out.

This may be outside your area of expertise, but I'm a preschool teacher and would love to know what I can do to mitigate the effects of kids being raised in environments likely to produce narcissists. Thank you!

One of the comments mentioned that Jesus Christ would be the only one to heal a narcissist. I would agree. However, a “conversion” is not a change in a person’s personality; it is a change in their attitude. And the more their attitude changes, the deeper and more authentic is the conversion. Their personality characteristics will always be the same as before, but their self-awareness can increase through true humility. This may take a long process of getting up every time one falls.
