Welcome to Bette's Place

Bette’s Place Restaurant was opened in April 1975. Bette Walters always dreamed of owning her own restaurant. Bette started her business in a small area and expanded four times to meet the demand of her customers. Her motto was never to serve any food that you wouldn’t eat yourself. For the last thirty-four years, Bette’s has had an outstanding staff.

Beverly Mathews started in 1978, Ken Hanson started in 1982 (has since deceased), Tana Polzel in 1986, Sheri Castaneda in 1987, and Eddie Tate in 1997. Bette’s sister, Frances Chambers, started as the baker in 1975, but at the present, Bette is still baking home made pies and muffins.

When Bette and Jerry are not traveling, Bette still comes in to make our secret recipe homemade cinnamon rolls, muffins and anything else that is needed.

In the mid-1990s, Bette and Jerry Walters’ daughter, Gay Jones and husband Gary, took over full ownership of the restaurant. After cooking next to her mother for 25 years, Gay’s cooking expertise has allowed Bette’s legacy to live on.

Bette’s Place is a friendly, family-oriented and has a staff that never changes.
