Such a great film! Every character had a legitimate use and actually added to the plot, i like how the funny moments are tied into the lore so it’s not just for the sake of a joke(Revolutionary Gma😂 loved her!) Rudy helped all throughout i wish there were more actual in depths reviews that don’t just delegate them as “funny” because each member of the family was just *mwah* chefs kiss 👌

I saw a review that hated the flick, I saw one that thought it was ok, and I saw yours. I wanted to see this movie purely for Xolo and your review definitely guarantees me that I will watch it. However I’m not sure if I’ll catch it in theaters (aside from the usual time and expense). That said thank you for the positive review because I was tempted to pass on it when I heard about the identity politics and how Jaime’s character doesn’t go through a hero’s journey himself ((that his family saves him from trouble all time)(I wanted to see Xolo kick some ass man)). Thank you for sharing your views because it did make a difference.

We have similar thoughts about it. My number score is close to yours. I'd go 7.0-7.5. I wish Letterboxd would let us give scores in the .25 range, so that I could give it a 3.75 stars instead of 3.5. Great review, Paulie!

Just finish watching the movie. Felt it was a entertaining movie. Good origin story. Not a "world in danger" style movie but still good enough to keep you entertained

Sounds like its not bad. I do worry about that mirror fight ending that every superhero movie has to do. Also being good aint good enough in this market I think both DnD and Mission Impossible were fun romps that didn't make bank. Big fan of Xolo and while I don't think will be Black Panther. Maybe I can get my dream YA or Teen Team in the future with Blue Beetle, Static (Shock), Supergirl, Cass Cain, Wonder Twins, and to round it out a Magic Character.

I just watched this movie tonight and really LOVED it! I wish I hadn't listened to the naysayers and saw it in the theater. I 100% blame James Gunn for its box office failure. He should have waited another year before his announcement. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. I may even do a video review of it on my YouTube channel. It was good.

Shout out from Brasil here, just watched and i like it alot, the family is great, the action scene with Cypress Hill soundtrack... Awesome, overall good movie, could watch a sequel.

I totally agree, I enjoyed it more than I thought. I saw my family a lot in the movie 😂 I thought they needed to show Rudy's intelligence earlier instead of surprising us with his inventions and computer skills. Stereotypes were there In a silly way but not over the top, A rooster or chihuahua woulda been too much. I really liked it and think it could been a bit better but not much, it's better than sooo many other movies👏🏾
