You get a full meal on a three hour flight? Dude, we'd be lucky to get peanuts and a pop on a southwest 3 hour flight out of midway Chicago. I personally don't even care about this stuff on a short flight. I just like the feeling of flying and reading a book.

The constant need for stimulation in our society is sad.
I use some of my flights as time for silence and to meditate. It can be very beautiful. Especially if it’s a shorter flight. No need for movies every time.

You should be lucky you didn't fly the vintage A7-ADx series A320s which were delivered in the early 2000s which have an even more ancient interior minus the screens. These were retired by February 2020 close to the eve of Covid.
