You are listening to a new and very nice effect of old fashioned music, oldies as we like calling them, (music from '20s, '30s, '40s) and it is sounding like it is coming from another room with relaxing rain and thunder sounds. I hope you guys enjoy the another room effect to oldies songs
- Imagine that it's Summer 1949, sitting on a porch on a Summer evening, with soft wind in the trees, the crickets are chirping, you can hear the night ambience sounds and the oldies music from the room behind you while feeling nostalgic of days gone by reminiscing the good old days.
This unique combination between oldies music with relaxing rain sounds but this time no thunder sound effects and no rain but it's from another room. Enjoy this 6 HOURS ASMR bliss!

How is it that a musical landscape set 50-some years before I was even born can bring me so much relaxation and a form of nostalgia for a time I've never seen??

Imagine no distraction from phones, just newspapers and radio. Blissful

My parents married in '49, and I was born in '52. So that could be my future ma & pa chillin' there. A couple years before he fought in Korea. Young man with a new wife & first child (me!) on the way. Got drafted. Reported. Served. Fought. Lost buddies that he rarely talked about, but never forgot. Came home. Asked for nothing. Expected nothing. Made a life. Paid his taxes. Raised his family. I got a new little sister 10 mo's after he got home, and a brother 7 yrs later. A true American Patriot. With a loving, supportive partner.
Mom's gone now. We still have Pop. He's 95, needs no pills, doesn't need glasses, owes no one a penny. Still takes his daily walks, only recently stopped driving.
Here's to them both, and a life well lived... 🥂

This is making me cry, this how my grandmother spent her evenings, in front of her house enjoying the gentle breeze and saying hello and catching up with her friends. I miss my grandmother so much.

I'm envious of the pretend people in the thumbnail. I would love to be sitting in a rocking chair next to my love right now, on a big porch, warm summer evening, cool breeze keeping the mosquitoes at bay, radio softly playing through the open kitchen window. Heaven.

"My parents spent many summer nights out in the porch when I was asleep. I joined them a few nights and while they've gone for many years, I miss those humid summer nights with the sounds of nature."

I was born on a farm, and this reminds me of summer nights, sitting on the porch, tired from chasing lightning bugs with my siblings. The farm is long gone, but I still have the memories.

My grandma passed away five years ago, but I still think about her and miss her. Listening to this makes me think of her, and what she must have been doing in her 20s in 1949. My grandpa had gotten back from the war. It must have been a wonderful time.

Why am I always overcome with a feeling of sorrow when I see these beautiful images and the songs? Why do I crave for this so deeply? Why does this seem so familiar and why does this feel lost in time, never to come back again?

The nostalgia I feel despite being born in 2000 makes me know I grew up with a golden hour. My parents helped me enjoy the best of ages. Music, book, and movie. I’m blessed to have such wonderful parents.

I was born in 1955 and grew up in NYC. Although we did not have a porch, we had a stoop (a set of stairs in front of the building). A radio always played my mom and neighbors tunes from the '40s when she would go outside to sit on the stoop with the neighbors. I loved hearing their stories of the "old days.) Good Times!

Wished I'd lived back then. Even if it meant not living now. The simplicity of everything just appeals to my soul.

Oldies are still great to listen to even in this age and year 2023

Not to make everyone more nostalgic and sad but…there were millions and millions more little creatures of the twilight back then — bullfrogs, peepers, crickets, bats, fireflies. I get a little misty eyed every time the few fireflies come out on a warm upstate evening. It truly is a special sight.

I was 5 in 1949. My dad took 8mm moives back then then and I have many of them and coverted them to digital. Most are black and white but some of the newer onces are in color. How wonderful it was of him.
