You've got this old man teary eyed missing the days of porch sitting. I grew up in Louisiana and before air conditioning everybody would go out on the porch after supper. I can still remember my folks and the neighbors playing cards and talking about Dr. King (I'm African-American) and Malcolm and where we were headed as a community and a nation. Mama was an MLK supporter. Daddy was a Malcolm guy, but he never said so around mama (she didn't abide by violence or the NOI) and when he slipped up, there was always a big argument.

Love this one! My dog taught me about the joys of just hangin' out on the porch. She's my porch buddy. We sit and appreciate the birds and crickets and people walking by. I love it when we hear the high school band practicing! I sit and crochet, and she sniffs the breeze. ❤
