My top 10 Miss Teen USA winners -

#10 Miss Teen USA 2019 Kaliegh Garris (Miss Teen Connecticut) With her historic win, it was the only time that all of the major pageant winners were women of color (Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst RIP - Miss America Nia Franklin & Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi). Like Cheslie, I like the fact that she was not afraid to wear her hair naturally. She sparkled on the stage and her winning reaction is still one of the best!

#9 Miss Teen USA 1983 Ruth Zakarian (Miss Teen New York) The OG of the Miss Teen USA pageant, who would change her stage name to Devon Pierce and go on to portray "Diane Westin" on "The Young & The Restless." Fun fact - she was a babysitter to Miss Teen New York USA 1988 Jessica Collins (1stRU), who would also to go on to have a notable role as Avery Bailey Clark for 4 years on "The Young & The Restless."

#8 Miss Teen USA 2005 Allie LaForce (Miss Teen Ohio) One of the most popular winners, Allie has gone on to have a very successful career as a sports reporter, most notably as a commentator on TNT for the NBA. Allie was a college basketball player for Ohio University after her reign.

#7 Miss Teen USA 1989 Brandi Sherwood (Miss Teen Idaho, Miss Idaho USA 1997, 1st RU, assumed Miss USA title) The only contestant in pageant history to wear both the Miss Teen USA & Miss USA crowns. She had the looks and the charisma to win over not only the judges, but TV fans when for 7 years (between 2002 & 2009) she was a popular model on the longest running US game show in history, "The Price Is Right." She is one of only 5 models to appear on the show with both Bob Barker & Drew Carey as hosts.

#6 Miss Teen USA 2010 Kamie Crawford (Miss Teen Maryland) My bias pick because I was born, raised and for the past 22 years have lived back in Baltimore, Maryland. The only winner from my state to win the title outright. (Maryland did have 2 Miss USAs - 1957 Mary Leona Gage, who was disqualified at Miss Universe when it was discovered she lied about her age and that she had 2 children from a previous marriage & 2012 Nana Merriweather, who was 1st Runner Up but assumed the title after Olivia Culpo went on to win Miss Universe 2012).

#5 Miss Teen USA 1993 Charlotte Lopez (Miss Teen Vermont) Known also as actress Charlotte Ayanna, her win in 1993 is still the most inspiring story of any winner. Born in Puerto Rico, but moved with her family to Vermont at an early age, she would spend 16 years in foster care after her mother, Emma, was ruled unfit to look after her children. She was adopted into a foster home in 1994, a year after her win and wrote the book, "Lost In The System." When Dick Clark announced her as the winner, it's still the most tear-jerking moment in the pageant history.

#4 Miss Teen USA 1990 Bridgette Wilson (Miss Teen Oregon) The second winner from Oregon in the then 8 year history of the pageant (behind Mindy Duncan's 1988 victory), this charismatic young woman would go on to not only have a successful acting career in the 1990s and early 2000s, but would marry a tennis legend, 14 time Grand Slam singles winner Pete Sampras (they have now been married for nearly 25 years and have two sons). I commend Bridgette & Pete for keeping their children out of the public for their entire lives.

#3 Miss Teen USA 2017 Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff (Miss Teen Missouri) An air force brat (her mother served in the USAF), this stunning German/Mexican young woman would go on to be an honor member of Phi Betta Kappa at the University of Kansas, but is now pursuing her law degree at the University Of Southern California Gould School of Law. She also successfully lobbied members of the Missouri HoR & Missouri Senate to pass laws to assist adult with developmental disabilities in her home state of Missouri.

#2 Miss Teen USA 1985 Kelly Hu (Miss Teen Hawai'i, Miss Hawai'i USA 1993 - 3rd RU) Kelly became the first teenage Asian girl to win the Miss Teen USA crown in it's third year of existence. She would then became a commentator in the early 1990s for both Miss Teen USA (she was part of history when in 1990 all hosts of Miss Teen USA were female - Sandy Duncan, Leeza Gibbons, Kelly Hu) before representing Hawai'i at the 1993 Miss USA pageant and finishing the closest ever to being in the top 3, finishing in 4th place, a mere .002 from advancing. She has since become a very successful actress, had a successful voice acting role as "Stacy Hirano" for 7 years on "Phineas & Ferb." She also is an avid and successful professional poker player, having placed in the top 200 at the 2006 World Series Of Poker Ladies Tournament.

#1 Miss Teen USA 1998 Vanessa Minnillo (Miss Teen South Carolina) The only Miss Congeniality to go on to win the pageant, Vanessa has since been a correspondent for "Entertainment Tonight, " hosted "Total Request Live" on MTV, Co-hosted the game show "WipeOut" for 1 year in 2011, and for the past 4 years has played the role of "Jane Tennant" on both "NCIS & NCIS:Hawai'i." She has been married to former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey since 2011 and has three children with him. She has co-hosted both the Miss USA (2018 & 2019) & Miss Universe (2017 & 2019) pageants. FUN FACT - A fellow contestant that year, Miss Teen Washington USA, Amber Lancaster, has been a model on 'The Price Is Right" since 2008!!

Keylee Sue Sanders of Kansas is the first Miss Teen USA to be crowned from her home state and now have her children.
Shelly Moore of Tennessee is married and is still looking to same face as her appearance during her time at Miss Teen USA.
