This session is coordinated by Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change and Water Institute (University of Waterloo), UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Peatlands initiative (GPI)

This session will discuss outcomes of a national, multi-stakeholder workshop series convened to explore development of a peatlands assessment, including a proposed Canadian research agenda to i) reduce uncertainty in estimating GHG emission reductions from peatland management actions and ii) evaluate the costs and benefits of policy instruments to support implementation of such actions.
