Here at our homestead we raise guinea fowl but keeping them means that there are a few things that you have to do on a regular basis, one of which is clipping their wings.

I love that they fly. I never clip my guineas wings.. I let them do as they want and go into the woods. They are wild littlebeasts. They go back to coop at night but free range all day.

Edit.. everything I read says not to carry guinea fowl by their legs.

I have a sweet boy named Gremlin. Hes definitely an oddball guinea that loves cuddles, never wanders away, and when Im outside with him he stays right by my side. I never clip his wings because I dont have to worry about him flying off.

We had 15 guineas and now we have 2. Didn’t clip wings. A few definitely got eaten. Let’s pray the others just moved away…

People don’t understand that we all take care of our animals differently! This person clips wings to avoid them from flying while other don’t mind it when they fly. We are all different and do things differently so we shouldn’t judge other by how they choose to take care of their animals. I take care of animals myself and I choose not to clip their wings because it’s my choice and this person can make their own choices, it’s just for other to not judge them for their choices!

I have a 10 ft perimeter wall around a 2 acre property. Will clipping wings keep then inside the wall? My issue is they may get enough lift to get them over the wall of they have a lot of runway. I just want about 4 for pest control

Do they stay in your "area" if you let them free roam

What!?? Why are you keeping them like that?? If you want a bird better suited for small areas and cares get chickens. Those guys for sure need to be running free. They are tough and even chase of predators. I don't understand why you would keep them like this.

Truly shows you don’t give a fuck about the pets you own

Perché? Come è successo? Ma tagli le punte per non farli volare?

Don't cut their wings, they're very loyal

Why would you do this? Unbelievably stupid. They always come home. How do they escape predators like foxes? BTW, they are incredibly self sufficient. Not difficult to keep at all. This is a form of animal cruelty. Period.

My guineas are still pretty young. I don't think I'll clip their wings, though, since it doea make them more vulnerable. I can't afford to lose my investment.

Just don't clip them, clipping their wings doesn't hurt them really but it does make it so they can't..fly from..predators..as said in the video. They wont go far from their home.

Te recomiendo solo cortar las 10 primeras plumas del ala las otras no sirven para volar

Mainly their predator is to blame which is a wild cat that can jump incredibly high
