I got my Class-A in 14 hours of driving total. I paid $2, 000 in 2009 for 14 hours and a road test. I was 21 years old. Went back a month later and paid $600 for 5 hours and a road test in a school bus. I did drive tow trucks for 2 years, had experience with manuals, and as a kid I had boats with boat trailers. Hardest part was the non-syncronized transmission. I used a 10-speed for the training and test. Not sure what it's like now, but in NY then, if you tested on an auto, you got an auto only restriction.

Might want to start off making sure you license status is valid for CLP/CDL
You’ll also need to take an additional course aside from the CLP written exam, which is the Entry Level Drivers Training Theory
In Texas there are 4 test sections on the CLP written exam, even though only 3 are mentioned on the DPS website, with about 120 questions. The written test and ELDT Theory are basically the same test and answers. CDL apps made it possible for me. Good Luck y’all

Y'all please listen to me and not this guy depending on the state in your live in look into a accredited trucking school because they will probably offer you financial aid, next look into grants that can help you with funding, note most trucking school averages 4-6 weeks I was blessed in my state to help and an accredited trucking school which I had to put in over 600 hours but the positive to this is I got all of my endorsements and learned every trucking maneuver understand this is industry takes patience and it's 70% mental 30% physical anyone getting their CDL license in 2 weeks don't believe them learning your offset maneuver and ally dock maneuver isn't something you can learn in 2 weeks.

Yep.. it's a shame about the slow freight and all the trucking companies going out of business because of the overcapacity.. It's also ashame about the slow freight and all the trucking companies going out of business because of too many drivers.. it's also unfortunate how the starter companies have lowered their starting wages probably about 5 to 8 cents per mile from about 2 to 3 years ago.. it's a tight employment market and the experiencef will win..

I do believe it's a minimum of 160 hours of training. Maybe Prime has some sort of exemption being a mega carrier and being able to pay off the right people.
