in league, there's only faker. players of recent years have come close to his mechanical skill, mainly chovy and showmaker. however, no one has the same amount of success, domestic and international as he has. no one has the same consistency and longevity as he has. no one has the same amount of impact he had on the game. simply put, he is the goat of lol and there is no argument that would dispute that

This is all you need to know about Faker:
He has a 50% WORLDS WINRATE, arguably the highest-stakes major esports competition in the world (single elim btw). As in, he attended Worlds 8 times and won 4 of them, losing 2 Semis, and 2 Finals. NA as a region has only ever reached semis, and EU as a region lost both finals. He has never placed below 3rd-4th EVER. Over 10 years. He has always made it out of groups as 1st seed.

Unbelievable stat. In fact, it is pretty much unanimously agreed upon that when it comes to the GOAT conversation, EVERYONE is vying for 2nd place. The gap between Faker and whoever else is the 2nd best is so large that nobody even bothers to challenge it.

Additionally, he is the only person to have won Worlds *4* times. The only other active player with the closest amount of Worlds wins is BeryL, with *2*. The only other ex-players with 2+ Worlds trophies were Faker's teammates. They're retired.

Faker won his first Worlds as the best midlaner in the world. 10 years later, he won his fourth as the best midlaner in the world.

Long answer: Yes he is, at his peak he was truly 5 to 6 years ahead and pretty much revolutionized mid lane. He has a wide champ pool, with incredible mechanics and championship winning shot calling. That together with 10+ years of consistentoy being one of the best mid players makes him a player that's in a different category.

Simply put, whilst people do doubt his current ability, nobody, and i mean nobody, doubts his legacy. Heis by far and away the greatest player in league of legends and it's not even close. You can point to the likes od messi and ronaldo but in terms of his legacy compared to his peers, he is above them. There's not a single player that comes close to being called the goat in the face of faker. Every player is fighting for a distant second in the all time greats and every player just accepts that because they know that nobody will catch faker. Another player could come along and wjn more titles but honestly, faker's legacy is untouchable for at least the next 10 years.

Faker is the only reason i ever started watching esports unfortunately after the bounty system was put into league of legends it made the game unfun to play and it hurt the ability for a player like faker to 1v5 and make risky plays now i play valorant and watch valorant esports but faker will always be the goat of league of legends to me

If you were to have a valorant comparison, you'd have to fuse players to get an equivalent to Faker, he is THAT good.

Imagine Forsaken's agent pool, the raw mechanical skill of aspas or prime yay, and the brain of Boaster/FNS/Saadhak, all combined into a single person, and you have the Valorant equivalent of what Faker is.
