China's Economic Growth Slows in Fourth Quarter

China's economic growth weakened last quarter in the face of slow private spending, a property market crisis and virus outbreaks. Gross domestic product grew 4% in the final quarter of 2021 from a year earlier, higher than the 3.3% rise projected by economist. Sian Fenner, lead Asia economist at Oxford Economics, discusses what the latest figures and the central bank's decision to lowered a key interest rate for the first time since the peak of the pandemic in 2020 mean for the outlook of the economy. She speaks on "Bloomberg Markets: Asia."

Obviously, western world have much higher expectation on China, than Chinese people themselves. China's own forcast of GDP growth is above 6%, while Bloombern or Reuters predict it to be 8%. Now we knew it is 8.1% actually. Now, the western world immediately start to worry about the 4th quater's slow down of China, rather than worrying about the own country's 2021 economic report. USA year 2021 GDP growth 5 to 5.5% (forecast), but CPI is near to 7%. Consider the inflation USA actual growth is negative 2%.
