i have always respected Tom and his journey however for new traders, listen to Tom carefully...you MUST know how to use extreme risk management when risking more than 10% of your account. I do agree with him, i risk up to 30-40% of my account when i see one of my strong high probability patterns, however I always hedge...always. in 2006, i was up $400k shorting the EURO on a $100k account, then something happened and the market pivoted and wiped out my account within 2 hours while i was sleeping. This was one of the best lessons i experienced and today i always hedge my larger positions. aggressive trading works IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING

People would say his argument is completely reckless but they fail to understand the man. Tom has trained and conditioned his mind to such a degree, it’s as if he has waged war against any and all forms of limitation. Everyone told me to not start learning to trade with “real money” “start with a Paper account” they said…Well that’s not my mentality so I took the only $1000 bucks to my name and jumped on a platform. No experience & no training whatsoever. Hell I’ve never even asked a trader or even an investor for advice. Long story short I lost 80% of my at that time life savings immediately! But I learned very fast and the information was absorbing into my brain at an astounding rate. Toms analogy of the bullets is correct. I became very selective with my 2 bullets and with Toms advice on psychological mindset of a trader (Especially the London speech) I’m becoming a VERY profitable trader (I’ve only been trading for less then 6 mos) I’ve watched that London speech many many times and I recommend it to everyone. That’s my Rant Thank you 🙏🏼 and thank you Tom for focusing on the part or trading that everyone dances around and not blabbing about technicals and fundamental again THANK YOU!

I 100% agree. For the past 6 months I’ve been wrestling with pushing the trade size limits. I recently doubled my trade size, let me tell you, the first trade at that size is not only mentally challenging, it can be physically disabling. When you’re hands are trembling you’ll know what Im talking about.
On the other hand, now, when I even think about going back to the previous trade size, it has become a waste of time.
The best thing that could happen on the first trade of a larger size is to take a loss. Yes it will hurt, it will suck, but like tom says, it will sharpen your senses.
My advice is to not go extra large until you have a rock solid confidence in what you’re doing. There can be no hesitation. You need to be decisive and be able to make quick decisions in a chaotic environment. If you have any doubts at all, stay at your current level until those doubts are vanquished.

Thank you tom for breaking the stigma of "conservative, safe" trading. Like you i never understood why people look down on winning big. Its like they WANT to be normal and afraid of big success (they prefer to stay in the comfort zone of 2-3% profits which wont get them anywhere)
