It's really strange car compared to the new SUVs. You have two possibilities - you can stay on the throttle with lower gear, but listen the inline 4 engine with i-VTEC. Which is good. But only in more sporty Civic.
Or you can just give up your driving taste and drive slowly.

To early shifting dude. Its a vtec...you should wait till right before the rev limiter kicks in...over 7000rpm maybe. The vetec has his peak power at the end of his rpm range...like most NA petrol engines.

Those rpm's are extremely high.... good thing is the engine will get warm fast, but the interrior noise is very loud.

You're literally shifting right before the VTEC is about to kick in. Maybe it's the wet and windy roads, but damn I was hoping to hear the of a nice VTEC engine in an HRV haha

100 times changed the gears in 8 min video. Very short gears, dangerously low torque in acceleration (155nm), annoying. 1.5 with turbo or 1.8 is the right choice, more comfortable to drive, no need to revving.
