Between 1514 to 1866, there were 11 million Africans sold and taken as slaves. 377k, less than 4%, ended up what is now the US. 40% of that 11 million ended up in Brazil. The rest ended up in the Caribbean, Central and the rest of South America, Spain and Portugal.

Maher IS right about the Bible. Nowhere in that book will you find a single verse condemning slavery. Why? Because it was the global norm back then.

South Carolina's largest slave owner was a black man from Sumter. He was always in court with charges that today would equate to animal cruelty. He rented them out to others that needed temporay help. This history is taboo to talk about now. We should talk about it to prevent it from repeating itself.
