ULTIMATE Foundry Beginner Guide - Foundry Tips and Tricks

Foundry is a new factory automation game and I've been playing quite a bit so I thought we would go through my ultimate beginner guide where I share some of my best tips and tricks with you to help you get started in the game. Foundry is a game that can be quite intimidating when you first start and progresses in complexity as you'll start with tier 1 production which eventually goes to tier 2 and 3 with each tier needing more materials to be produced.

The game is still in early access with the developers wanting to add more to the science/research tree which will mean things will only get more advanced and they already estimate 40-60 hours worth of gameplay. These beginner tips should help you understand the fundamentals and make your factory building adventures a lot easier to grasp. You don't need to bring up the little ipad thingy to do Q or ctrl-Q to copy an item. There's also a setting you can turn on so you don't need it for shift-lmb/rmb to copy paste the machine settings either, if you like.

Tip for mining ores.
For maximum efficiency, dig out the ore all around it first.
Then add a ring of foundations around the middle (like Jupiter) and place your 4 miners around the ore on all directions N, S, E, W.
Connect them together with balancers to form a single line output.
Doing it that way insures you will not have to move your miners.

If you place your miners on the top of the ore, they might not reach all the ore.

Second tip, dont rely only on one ore deposit at a time.
You will run out.
I ran out of ore in one spot and had to build a whole new network to get it again.

I just want to mention that the reason its called balancer and not splitter is cause its both a merger and splitter. So if you put 2 in then one out its a merger. 1 in and 2 out then its a splitter.

can you change belt direction ? if you screw up the direction do you need to deconstruct and rebuild
