I see this song in two lights: the light shining on political corruption and the light shining on people who wrong you spreading rumours and such. I’m more in touch with the light shining on the rumours as people tend to hate for whatever reason and couple that with wanting to spread nonsense, whether true or not (but if true does it still apply?) and laugh about it. She betrayed the promise that she wouldn’t be the asshole type after a breakup. I still wouldn’t hate her, though, but I don’t like her either. The only love she has is the basic “you’re a person with your own life” type
