I was in a little coffee shop on the Isle of Wight a couple of years ago and this song came on the radio. The only other customer, a lady of about eighty, was standing, swaying and quietly singing the lyrics. I was so moved that I got a huge lump in my throat.

Brings to life my first love. Unreal that after meeting her I became the captain of the football team and she became the homecoming queen! Beautiful girl who struggled with her life! She shared herself with me and I was so underrated! Still think of her every time I hear this song! She will always be my spirit animal!

I bought a Cat Stevens greatest hits on tape in 1990, 15th October to be exact that has this track on it. The day I bought it I was sitting in my bedroom at the age of 20 writing an essay for an accounting degree listening to it when my dad and best friend had a massive heart attack in our garden. I went out but it was too late, he passed right there on the path as I watched. It was the single worst moment of my life and since that time this song has provoked so many reactions in me - I both love it and fear it, if such a thing is possible. 23 years later, to the day, 15th October 2013, my only child and son Peter (named after my dad) was born. I am 50 now and he is 7, I share this song with him, I tell him what it means to me. He tells me he wishes he could have met his opa, its something we share together. Thank you Yusuf for giving us a song that helps create memories. John Pouw, NZ.
