Just like coconut oil.
Western countries linked coconut oil to coronary artery. Ulterior motive.

Same thing with eggs, back in 60's and 70's some people mentioned eggs had too much bad cholesterol but after 50 years now studies are showing that Cholesterol in eggs is good for humans.

Philippines has been using that MSG but Filipino who are using that reach at the age of 90to 100 yrs old in the village. Stress and depression are the worst ingredients for cancer.

I remember when I was in college, my biology professors usually criticized about Chinese food containing lots of MSG. Today, many food in the US like instant noodles, chíp, and more have MSG. Some American chefs use MSG, too.

I remember when the MSG scare came out in the 80's. I regularly ate at Chinese restaurants and loved the cuisine since I was a kid in the 70's. However, once a became an adult, I did notice one side effect - whenever I had Chinese food with alchohol, I would get bad headaches. So I stopped having beer with Chinese food and never had another headache when eating Chinese food.

I've heard that it's not that people consume too much salt, but they don't consume enough potassium to balance it out. They don't eat enough greens. I'd love to hear a story on this.

I remember there was a time when Koreans used to get a lot of hate for eating dog meat.

Whenever a society rises, there are bound to be some people who would not like to see that happening. They would go to great extent to malign the Food Culture of that country because food is considered an element of soft power.

That's why when i see people online ranting about Indian food causing diarrhoea especially highlighting the issues related to hygiene in Indian food, i try to remind myself that we aren't unique in this and that it happened with everyone.

The world over? Ha! I grew up with Ajinomoto in Guyana and lived in Brazil 12 years, I cook with it daily and use very little salt!

Reminds me, like in the 1950-60s, the researchers linked Cancer to Smoking but the Cigarette companies paid researchers to unprove or deny any direct links between smoking and cancer, and the courts ruled they are coincidence and no cause or effects here.
