I don't mess around with mold. You shouldn't either. What would you do if you found mold in your vacation rental?

Honestly as someone who got sick from mold, this is not over reacting

I love how nice and gentle she was on the phone. It's totally unacceptable to rent a place like that but she didn't yell or anything, just nicely asked for another room

I’m so thankful the comments all agree with crunchy mom on this one.

I'm with her on this one.

I would actually expect someone get a new room or refunded for the danger to their health, especially if they are autoimmune or something!

Usually I'm pretty silky, today though, I'm with crunchy.

Mould ain't a joke. I also enjoy the fact that crunchy mom was so polite to the service staff, just wanting a different room, and seemingly only getting confronting once they likely started saying it wasn't a big deal.

I have had to quit a job after 2 hours on my first day, because of mold. I completely lost my voice, felt light headed, out of breath and had a migraine that lasted for a week and a half.

I don't care how much you're paying me, I am not going to work at a place that has mold.

Hey, crunchy mom is spot on! When you know the smell, you DO know it - spent about four years in a house that was completely overrun by black mold, to the point that everyone spent more time sick than well and it almost wiped out someone in my household. Said person kicked up a fuss and she threatened to get the media involved after it nearly got to the point of her needing to be hospitalized due to the mold (this is a woman who never goes for dislocations and drove to her g.p's office with a board full of nails driven into the sole of her foot before being redirected to the ER), and we were eventually moved by the government and had the place bowled. It's been over a decade. But now we all happen to be hounds for mold and can pick up the distinct sickly but musty dampness it has. It does take a bit longer than that to track the source though lol.

Love how she's still so kind to the employee. No yelling, no blaming, just calmly explaining and asking for a different room.

For once, I think almost all of us are on Crunchy Mommy’s side

No amount of mold is okay, whether it be a little or a lot and the sad thing is if one room has it most of the others probably do too or will.. so yep you go crunchy!!

Um no, never downplay mold. Our whole family kept having flu like symptoms and it was during the big c, we didn't have it, found out the water heater was leaking in the wall and behind it where you can't see was completely covered in mold. Scary we had the whole wall removed it was a huge project and tons of mold. We rent and the owner tried acting like we were overreacting when we had a baby and we were all sick. Disgusting Behavior! We were all fine afterwards. My so even got to stop using his emergency inhaler daily since it effected his asthma so bad

Girl I had toxic mold poisoning for 3 years and it altered my life in so many ways. I was exposed to mold for 3 days at a hotel and got SO sick again. Undereacting is the word!! 👏

"If you know the smell, you know"
Omg yes. I used to smell something damp in the kitchen of the house we used to live in. The place didn't really have any problems but this one part of the kitchen just had a damp smell sometimes and I could never find the source.
Then a year ago we were moving out, removed the corner cabinets and there it was: mold. Not a lot but it was there, in the coldest, most exposed part of the apartment (corner apartment with no other buildings close to that side of the building).
Yes: If you know the smell, you know D:

It's all fun and games until your childhood asthma comes out of remission 20 years later and you start having flashbacks of old attacks like it's repressed PTSD ps a weakened immune system unlocking more genetic inflammatory nightmares
