It shows a boy dangling from a ride more than 30 feet in the air. It happened at the Coosa Valley Fair in Rome. The boy is okay, but his parents want to make other parents aware of what happened. Christy Hutchings with News Radio 106.7 spoke with the boy and carnival about this dramatic ordeal.

that boy is lucky af. Around my area there is no seatbelts or lapholders. The only thing that keeps me safe is the handle ON THE DOOR. If that door would open then I'd be falling to hell.

He's really lucky cause Our Zipper here in the USA seat belts are attached to the door so once the door opens it's just a free fall to the ground. Hopefully they Make ours like that sometime soon

I don't understand how this Zipper ride has more seat belts and safety harnesses and still the cage opened, but in America our seat belts are on the cages and ours would almost never open

My father was a carnival worker and he said he had seen the Zipper throw cars before. It has a reputation for sure.

Those are the newer seatbelts. Weird that happened.

Swear on my life. me and my cousin almost died on this ride as children. the latch was bad and the door opened while the ride was about to take off, it was lifting us in the air. me and my cousin tried to slam it shut but it just opened again and we screamed. thank god someone must've seen the door open and they lowered the ride. it was the scariest moment of my life.

What an amazing brother. Watching out for his sister before himself. I'm so proud of those kids.

that's a good idea I'm a zipper operator and we don't have harnesses in are seats first time I seen that

They should have a five point harness (like they have in race cars) attached to the back of the cage, so if the door fails, that harness will keep you in.

The thing is with my carnival, this ride has no seat belts nor any straps it's only a bar but it's attached to the door which means, if the door opened you would fall immediately...

Zipper is actually a pretty freaky ass ride. Especially if you get a cart that sticks and doesn't spin too much. You come over the top and do a belly flop face first towards the ground.

I went on a ride like that. NEVER EVER going on it again

I’ve rode many and have never seen one with a harness or seatbelt. You usually just load and they lock the door with a small pin that makes you nervous and left to wonder..I always think about the pin falling out..so glad all was ok.

What a wonderful young man to be so calm and brave. I’m a grown adult and would have been flipping. He kept his cool.
