You can’t blame Arthur for what he have become, if you deepen his arc pre-Excalibur Arthur, Camelot which is his kingdom was forcefully taken over by Zeldris and Meliodas, turning people of camelot into if not just getting killed by the demons, the remaining survivor was hiding inside a cave for shelter while Arthur alone go out on an expedition while slowly growing stronger, killing more demons inside camelot. This is Arthur when he is 16 years old, he bears the burden of becoming his surviving people beacon of hope, yet his effort was in vain as Excalibur’s burden proven to be too much for him to handle, which caused him his life at the time. All of that then he suddenly have to go back to life just to realize that everyone everything changes and now Demon are coexisting with human thanks to Meliodas, just imagine the shock Arthur and moreover the confusion in all of what happened. I’m just saying, he did nothing wrong since there is a scene where he mourns a graveyard filled with Camelot’s people
