How to Paint Crisp, Clean Black Lines

The first time I painted anime characters was Hinata from Naruto. I thought it looked really nice! But the SECOND painting I did from haikyuu was 10 x better??? I was so confused. The layers were more smooth, it was more “clean” the shadowing looked more as it does in actual anime, etc. I realized that you’ll get better the more times you try! Ty for Inspiring me! ☺️

would love to try but theres one thing, how would it react to varnish being applied to it, cuz ink takes time to dry unlike paint, and ive had bad experiences using ink and varnish so could u tell me abt that??

Is it acrylic ink you use or Indian ink? Or doesn’t it matter, what ink do you use?

I only have folkart acrylic paint. Will that work? it’s my first time doing anime paintings so I hope it will! ☺️

when I have my drawing on my canvas do I outline then paint? Or paint then outline? Bc after perhaps, one coat I can still see my pencil markings.

or simply get more experience to be able to do it with ACRYLIC and SUFFICIENT amount of water :) hope this helps
