This beautiful movie brings back memories of the first time I saw it on tv with my mom and my sister.It was on late night tv and we were allowed to stay up to watch.Times are different now, families are different, sadly the country is different.I long for those days, but know that we must not grieve for what is gone but be glad that we ever had it.

What a wonderful movie. So sweet. I remember my Mom being so sad and worried about my brother when he went into the Marines in Vietnam…..she picked up a tape recorder the day after he left and never stopped talking into it until he came home. He came home…..She would mail them to him every week

This is the first time I saw this movie made in 1944, the year of my birth. Claudette Colbert died on my birthday July 30th, 1996. Maybe will meet in the hereafter?? God willing.

This is a gem of a movie. It rivals "It's a Wonderful Life" to me. Wish my Mother and I had seen it together when she was alive, but I believe she did see it at some point in her life. She often spoke of Claudette Colbert and Joseph Cotton. I was very surprised to see Shirley Temple. It takes me back to a time that I wasn't here and could see life as my Mother was growing up in a very difficult time when the country was struggling. From the script to the incredible actors to the music and the realistic set, I am so thankful that I found this and definitely think it is one of the greatest films of all time.
