I’m very interested in dividend ladder. I understand the concept of having multiple stocks per month on a quarterly basis pay out. I know this webcast uses the aristocrats as an example. But that’s no guarantee that the stock won’t cut their dividends in the future. How would one anticipate that a dividend cut could be coming? Would this mostly be based on long term trend of the stock? I would very like to build a dividend ladder in my paperMoney portfolio, but I want to select stocks are quality and most likely not cut their dividends soon. Selecting the stocks for this is a struggle for me. I guess for selecting the stocks:
First filter for me would be: Aristocrat or King
Long term trend?
Cash Flow?
Cash Flow Operations?

Are there any other checks I should be looking at before attempting to build my ladder?
