Our local PLDT Fiber went down again and Starlink to the rescue. This is a update on how Starlink RV ACCOUNT from the USA is currently working in the Philippines as a roaming account from abroad. THIS WAS NOT PURCHASED IN THE PHILIPPINES , THIS IS A RV ACCOUNT WITH RESTRICTIONS ON SPEEDS. I PAY $25 EXTRA A MONTH FOR ROAMING total $125 per month. It may not be worth it for you.

We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. We hope you enjoy and join to be part of a bigger family here on this channel.

Thank you for being apart of our channel and lives.

Critical Update
Several friends and I were waiting for your update. Thanks for doing so, as people can now formulate a more informed decision on the purchase of such system.

I had a roommate that installed those BIG dishes back in the day. Helped a few times. Man things have changed. From dishes bigger in diameter than a man is tall to Dish net etc. and Starlink.
Like basic Brick phone to computers in your pocket things are getting better, well one big CME and that’s all toast but until then it’s great.
An all mechanical diesel in your pocket for emergency “oh crap” days… worst case scenario stuff.

I am impressed that's leaps and bounds better than I could ever get in Rural Northern NM on the limited types of Internet providers over here.

Heard Starlink just went online in ph today Feb 22, 2023. Was wondering how much it improved and is it more reliable. Planning to buy one and saw the service cheaper (around 2k per month and 30k for unit) than last year.

You should look into getting a load balancing router like TP-Link ER605, you can plug all of your ISPs into it and join them into a single network. So if one fails or if everything is working you are still connected to the same home network and it will spread the usage between your IPSs.

I am just waiting for it to officially launch. I did not bring it from Texas like I thought I will. Seems like it will cost a whole lot less in pessos around 2.7k . I'll wait . Our fiber at home is just worst so for now cellular is working. As soon as starlink arrives I am getting one. Haha. Missing Texas thou 😃

Would bringing starlink to philippines from USA work without setting it up in USA first?
