📡 We finally ordered Starlink! With the announcement of the Starlink RV option, we jumped at the chance to order it and get it working. This video is simply me (Scott) trying to unbox, set up and use our new Starlink system without any prior knowledge of how to do so.

I have read all of the tech specs on the system, but I've never watched a video about how to set it up. All I knew is that it was "Easy". It was easy, except for a couple of hang-ups. Once we are back on the road, I plan to use Starlink as much as possible. I use multiple terabytes of data per month, so it will be interesting to see if I run into any issues with data limits!

Here are some links to get you started with Starlink!

My wife and I spent 45 years doing what you are doing. We live in Oregon on a beautiful 2 acres. If you ever need a spot to park for a couple of days, you would be welcome here. We have two RV parking spots with water, electric & gray water hookups for our RV friends. We don't live too far from Portland, Oregon. We like your videos!

I’m still waiting for my home version for about 18 months. Maybe this fall it’ll arrive. Already been a price increase since I ordered it.
Nice to see you folks. 👍🇨🇦

90% of the places we stay, can't even use a cell phone. I look forward to getting this. Will use at home also. Not sure which services to get for TV. Like Netflix etc.

Very useful overview of setup RV Starlink, thank you. Does Starling RV has time limit for paused service?

Do the connectors from star link hook up to your other router? I have a router but not sure I can use it with Star Link. I’d like to know how you hooked up your router with Starlink.

"[Starlink] angled itself." Wow. I want one so much now.

Always do a reboot on the wifi and the router once a day. That will dramatically help with speeds... Also put the dish into stow and then hit un stow once a day and that will also force to dish to find a closer satellite which helps the speeds big time. I am in a waitlist area with the RV vesion and I my speeds are always up near 70-100Mb download.

Enjoyed the WIFI, but Starlink's customer service is close to worthless. Had it not been for Mr. J Christina's videos I would not have figured out how to "communicate" with Starlink. The email and thumbs down method gave me access, but Starlink's responses to
simple questions were ridiculous ! After 3 months I sold my "Roam" gear and transferred my serial # etc to someone else using the excellent videos.
After reading other comments below, I can see that the monthly cost will continue to rise and make it prohibitive. I don't do a lot of streaming or downloading so my phone carriers WIFI (Mint) is just fine.
I also see I paid $100 more through Starlink to buy my gear, when I could have purchased through Best Buy !

I had to have it shipped to NY it has been at my parents house for the last month. I am excited because I am going to NY next month and I am excited to try it out myself. I can cut down my cell plan as well.

just watched a video of a couple on a power boat. Just in the past month he made some modifications to his new rectangular receiver and mounted it flush and SOLID with the top of his 43' boat. It works perfectly and he NEVER has to mess with the receiver/dish again. It's permanently mounted. If it interests you, let me know and I'll try to find the video that shows how he did it. It's really neat!

Great info. Will put that on the list of things to get for the truck camper.
If you are in Galveston over the weekend you may want to stop by and see the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, “America’s Tall Ship.” It arrived in Galveston for the first time since 1972 on Friday morning.
After leading a Parade of Sail comprising Coast Guard and port partner vessels, Eagle entered the moor at Pier 21 and will be open for free public tours.
At 295 feet in length, Eagle is the largest tall ship flying the stars and stripes and the only active square-rigger in United States government service.
Eagle has served as a classroom at sea to future Coast Guard officers since 1946, offering an at-sea leadership and professional development experience as part of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy curriculum.
This summer, Coast Guard Academy Cadets completed a transatlantic voyage and experienced port calls in Azores, Iceland and Bermuda.
Eagle is a three-masted barque with more than 22, 300 square feet of sail and 6 miles of rigging.
The cutter was constructed in 1936 by the Blohm and Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany.
Originally commissioned as the Horst Wessel by the German navy, Eagle was a war reparation for the United States following World War II.
Tours are available:
• Friday, June 10, noon to 4 p.m. for public tours
• Saturday, June 11: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for military/first responder tours (with valid ID), 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for public tours
Sunday, June 12: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for military/first responder tours (with valid ID), 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for public tours

Hi Scott and Sasha. We have been following your channel for a very long time and love all you videos. Like Sasha, I am a teacher too (working from home). I am considering buying a starlink (for Rver). I know you guys have bee using the starlink for a while, do you think this starlink is stable and fast enough to have online classes in some national parks? Thank you very much, and again, love your videos.

I heard that if you live in or are using this in the North East you don't get good reception - is that true?
